Field Trips

Our next field trip will be to the Gemological Institute of America. Website: www.gia.edu

DATE: June 5, 2014 (Thursday).
TIME: 9:00am-12:00noon. Plan this trip to last 3-4 hours.
MEET: In the parking lot across the street from the FGMS museum or make arrangements with Angela Hicks to meet at GIA.

NO COST FOR THIS FIELD TRIP-wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. You MUST RSVP in advance for this field trip and bring a picture ID with you. If you would like to join us for lunch after the tour, at a local eatery, bring money with you. If you carpool you may want to give your driver a few dollars for gas.

GIA's education is regarded as the pinnacle of training and professional development in gems and jewelry. We will be given a docent tour of GIA including the exhibit of Gem and Gemology Magazine covers with the original minerals, finished pieces and jewelry. This is a must see exhibit!
