INTRODUCING THE 2026 ROCK BOX MINI-COLLECTIONS

Each month you’ll get a box with a custom-curated, hand-picked mini collection of samples based on a different “theme”, usually having to do with common origins, crystal structures, locality, use, or properties.
What’s included in each box:
- 5-7 samples of minerals, rocks, or fossils (a variety of rough, crystalline, and polished)
- An introductory card that includes an overall description of the theme of the month’s collection, and how your samples belong together in the theme..
- For each sample, an identification and information card with a science-based description of each sample and other interesting facts about the sample, including how the sample fits in this month’s theme.
A themed box will be shipped to you starting around the 3rd or 4th week of each month for 3 months. Orders must be placed by the 15th of the month to receive your first box that month.
Want more? Every time you decide to renew your subscription in 2026, you’ll get a whole new set of themed boxes, each with a different set of samples.

What is the cost of the Rock Box Mini-Collection?
$84 for a 3-month subscription. That’s just $28 for each box. Shipping is FREE (to the lower 48 states in the US).
When will I get my first box?
Initial orders placed before the 15th of the month will be shipped the 3rd or 4th week of that month. Subsequent boxes will ship in the second half of the following 2 months. (So an order placed July 14th will ship the 1st box in late July, while an order placed July 16th will ship the 1st box in late August).
I want to send these as a gift. How can I do that?
Be sure to check the box that says this is a gift, and be sure to add your gift recipient’s name and shipping address where it says “ship to another address”. Please also be sure to provide your recipient’s email address, since we will send an intro to the mini-collection program and links to additional resources when the first box ships.
I want to order, but it says “out of stock”? Is there a waitlist?
We can only fill orders for 50 active subscriptions. If we are out of stock, check again after the 15th of each month.
Are individual boxes available?
Not at this time.

When your 3rd box ships, we will send you a reminder and link for how to renew your subscription for another 3 months.
I changed my mind, and I want to cancel my order. How do I do that?
We are very sorry, but we have an all sales final/no cancellation policy, as spelled out in our Terms and Conditions, which you acknowledge having read before you order. Contact us if you have a change in shipping information — we can change that BEFORE we ship the boxes.
What’s a “theme”?
A theme is a unifying concept that connects all the samples in a mini-collection. For example, a mini-collection with the theme “Metamorphic Rocks and Minerals” would contain samples that are typically related to metamorphic rocks and processes; a mini-collection themed “Silicates” would contain a variety of samples that represent different types of silicate minerals.
